Blackberry picking time,get out there and get some free fruit ,take along a walking stick to keep back the thorns ,and a sturdy container to keep the berrys in .I dont pick the ones that are to soft that have a purple hue to them ,i leave them for the birds ,they should be firm to the touch.
you can make all sorts with them ,jam ,wine,pies or you can frezze them .

AT LAST THE 12TH HAS ARRIVED for me it means the summers finished ,off to my local shoot time to don my tweeds ,my worn out barbour and wellies, during the winter months i live in my wellies what joy ,get me dog spruced up ready for flushing out pheasants and partridge from the rather dense undergrowth.
